Cliff Lyijynen is a Finnish-Singaporean chef based in Helsinki, whose love for food was shaped by the rich and diverse culinary landscape of Singapore. Growing up surrounded by big family dinners and the comforting dishes of his late Mama (grandmother), Cliff discovered early on that food is always best when shared.
Her influence remains at the heart of his cooking philosophy today. Through his work, Cliff strives to recreate the warmth, generosity, and joy of those meals — bringing people together around delicious, soul-nourishing food.
With over eight years of experience in the restaurant industry, Cliff has cooked across a range of styles from street food to fine dining, and cuisines spanning modern European, Japanese, and Singaporean. Deeply connected to his heritage, he honours the flavours of his roots while also reimagining traditional recipes — including plant-based interpretations and fully vegan tasting menus.
Cliff offers private dining, catering, private chef services, and cooking classes. Whether it’s an intimate dinner or a lively gathering, he believes there are few things more meaningful than enjoying a great meal with others.
